small makeup & bath and body works haul + beauty gadget
Just a few items I've purchased within the last month and a half. I bought them to either try them or I needed them. Let me know your thoughts if you've tried them before.
1. Almay Smart Shade Smart Balance in Medium. This comes out of the tube in a white liquid with a greenish tint to it. When you apply to your face, it does change color to match whatever skin tone you have. I like full coverage and for me this is more of a medium coverage or like a tinted moisturizer. I'm not sure if I like or hate this product. I'll probably try it again before making a decision.
2. Maybelline Lash Discovery in black (waterproof). I got this mascara to use on my bottom lashes. The brush is not full sized even though it's a full size tube. The brush is smaller, more like a mini-brush and this works for me because my bottom lashes are sparse and short so I'm able to coat all the lashes.
3. Elf eyebrow kit in medium. I've heard some good reviews on this and some gurus that do like this item. So I picked it up and it's a hit for me! Best $3 spent.
4. Tarte Eyelash Curler. This is my most recent purchase from Sephora. I was in the market for a new curler so while browsing around at Sephora I saw this. It came with a mini tube (3 ml) of their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara (purple tube in picture) packaged together in a little bag. Total cost $15. The curler works extremely well and I'm also liking the mascara too.
On a recent trip to the outlet, we stopped by the Bath and Body Works store and they had Pearberry in stock!!! I was so excited. We all know you can only get this scent either online or at the outlet. They discontinued this item in stores. Of course, they had one of their amazing sales going on - Buy 3, Get 2 free OR Buy 2, Get 1 Free - or something like that. I picked up 2 bottles of the Pearberry lotion and 2 bottles of the shower gel. The bf picked up Exotic Coconut shower gel for the. I haven't used my Pearberry yet because I'm still trying to use up my Dancing Waters shower gel/cream and the lotion. And also, on another trip to the Bath and Body Works store at the mall, I picked up some hand soap. Another awesome sale going on so I picked up 5 hand soaps - 3 were Dancing Waters (can you guys tell I love this scent, lol) and two other scents - Pomegranate Passion and Mango Margarita. I don't know if these two scents are seasonal or if it will be permanent.
Whoever came up with this idea is genius!!! I'm not sure how many of you know about this but it's a small refillable perfume bottle spray. I found this at Sephora for $15 and it only carries .14 oz or 50 sprays. There's also a window that lets you see how much you have filled up. I had originally bought one with a funnel but that just got messy. I got the perfume all over the place and on my hands so I exchanged it for this one and it's so much easier. All you do is take the top completely off your perfume bottle and then stick the atomizer on top (there's a hole on the bottom) and start pumping. It takes less than a minute to fill up. Gone are the days of carrying around a bottle of perfume!
There's also a similar item out in the market called the Travolo. But I don't know if it's cheaper or more expensive than the one from Sephora.

HauteLook : Juicy Couture
I have been waiting for weeks for my order from HauteLook. I ordered 3 different jewerly items from Juicy Couture - two pairs of earring and a bracelet. I LOVE this site. There are a lot of brands that I'm not familiar with but when they do have sales for the brands I know, I'm on it! lol.
HauteLook is a site that sells designer brands for 50-70% off. Membership is free which is awesome! Each new sales starts at 11AM Eastern time (8AM Pacific time) and the merchandise is a first come first serve. You have to be quick! The item you select is in your cart for 15 minutes and if you haven't bought it yet within those 15 minutes, then it gets released back into inventory where another shopper can snatch it up.

The first pair of earrings I got came in this cute box with the JC scottie dogs emblem on the top. Inside are two flower stud earrings.
The second pair of earrings is teardrop shaped earrings with studs. It came in a little satin pouch with Juicy Couture written on the front.
And lastly, here's the bracelet.
I've been wearing the first pair of earrings a lot lately. Most recent was out on a shopping trip with the bf and some friends to the outlet mall. I'm loving my Juicy Couture jewelry!

Valentine's weekend + haul
Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Weekend! This is the first Valentine that I've spent with a significant other.
The bf lives about 1hr 1/2 - 1hr 45mins away from me. I know, I know..it's so far. After work on Friday, he came down and didn't get to my place til 1:30am. He works 2nd shift. On Saturday, we didn't do much. What he had planned fell through so we went to Target and he did a little shopping for his little girl. We also went to IKEA and got me a white dresser and came back home and put it together. Since it was already late, 7-8ish, we went to get something to eat. Stopped at Olive Garden first but that place was super busy so then we decided to get some fast food. Me = Panda Express. Him = Chick-fil-A. We ended up staying in eating our food and watching Anchorman.
For Valentine's Day gifts, I got him a framed picture of us, Lindt chocolate truffles and of couse, a Vday card. Start out simple and build up as the years go by, right? lol
What he planned was really sweet. I give him points for trying, lol. Our very first date was at Chili's inside Discover Mills. He had called them to see if he can reserve the same booth we sat in the very first time we met but, of course, they told him no. Then his gift idea didn't work out either! He has this high school friend who owns a store in Canton that sells high-end merchandise. I've never been there so I don't know what the inventory looks like. So anyway, he said that she has some gift baskets available and was going to get me one but when he saw them, he didn't like the selection. So as a last minute gift, he got me one of those Valentine blanket and pillow bundle from Wally world! haha. The blanket is actually pretty warm. And of course along with that, there was card too.
Now onto the haul. Last week, Ulta had a great sale on some drugstore makeup. I think L'oreal was buy two, get 1 free.
L'oreal lineur intense felt tip liquid eyeliner in black mica. Heard a lot of good reviews about this eyeliner so I got myself one. Be careful and read the packaging when you buy it because it comes in a felt tip and brush. The brush isn't all that great. I made the mistake of buying the brush the first time.
L'oreal Voluminous mascara in blackest black. Read good reviews on this too so thought I'd pick it up. It actually does a good job of coating my lashes. My lashes are short, thin, and straight.
L'oreal True match blush in 5-6 warm. I picked this up to round out my buy 2, get 1 free. This blush is okay.
NYX eyelashe #110. I've never tried NYX eyelashes before so I picked up a pair just to try. Comes with lash glue which I'm not going to use. Instead, I will be using my duo lash glue.
Covergirl makeup masters 3-in-1 sharpner. To my surprise, it works pretty well.
Upcoming posts will be from Hautelook and bath and body works. Stay tuned!
